Michael and I met when we were Freshman in college and Instant Messenger was huge. Not to mention that we lived in different states and it was much cheaper than cell phone minutes at the time! We got to know eachother on Messenger, (maybe one of us was asked on a date that way) and kept in touch that way.
Anyway, as most of you know Michael and I keep pretty hectic work schedules these days with long hours. I wish that we had more time together in the evenings to cook, relax together or just to run errands. We survive on our weekend time together and, as I realized the other day, Messenger! The agency let's us use Messenger on our work computers (and I use it relentlessly during the day to get work done with my Coordinator in Fort Lauderdale) but I'm also able to send little notes to Michael once in a while or ask him a question without the cost or effort of a text message. Live conversation!
Who knew that a little IM could be a great way for us to stay in touch after we were MARRIED and lived in the same house! I guess our 9 year relationship with Messenger lives on!

You're a TEN!!!
Tonight I had so much work to do (I'm still up and should be working) I scarcely got to sit down and eat our leftover dinner. There are spreadsheets to update and agenda's to make and things to catch up on even though I didn't leave the office til 7...
When this happens (this workload overload) Michael and I always ask if we can help eachother, but rarely can another help with the others job. Tonight, however, Michael was able to bust out a 10-key attachment and whip out a spreadsheet, saving me an extra hour of not sleeping.
For your 10 key skills and for so many other reasons - husband, you are a 10!!!
Good. Nite.

Maternity Leave. Leave it to me..... er, us!
So before anyone gasps in excitment (or terror) at the title of this blog, we are NOT pregnant... but we DO have so many friends and co-workers and family that just had babies, are having babies, or are going to have babies (six in May!). I am surrounded by discussion of these little ones and even though I don't have a desire to have my own right now I really couldn't be happier for all the ones we love that will soon have these little blessings.
One of the people that I am so excited for is a co-worker of mine due in May. A second person that we are so excited for is one of Michael's co-workers also due in May.
A couple of weeks ago before my boss left on maternity leave (also so happy for her) we had a discussion about me covering for my co-worker while she was out which is a tremendous responsibility and opportunity all rolled into one! And Michael, nearly simultaneously, found out that he would be covering for his co-worker while she is out (again, responsibility and opportunity)!
Happy as we are for them and their babies and for this opportunity, we will surely be feeling the crunch of this extra work load very soon and at the same time! We should also both be done before the summer is nearly up... anyone have some awesome quick-vacation ideas? :)
